Can you make all picks with a hook? I would hate for either of us to tie a pick. You could just add 1/2 point to each favorite if needed to make it fair

PO you gonna win this thing but I cant see what in the world this proves.

Why we are not picking our own 5 favorite plays a day or same games I have no idea.

I wouldnt play Rhode Island so why spend the time to figure out if I like the game. Just throwing darts at a few of these

Well really I had not checked the rules before our side bet. This way should lead to not having great records since they wont be our best plays of the day. Actually Houston was my play of the day, but the others were not even play that I put money on today.

I think the reason for this format was to keep from people piggy-backing or picking the opposite games after the first day.

I do agree with that idea though. This is an interesting format. So far I have a slight lead, but i may go 0-5 one day easily. I may even forget to post my plays like I almost did today

The rules were clearly posted way ahead of time on Feb. 25th.

You both should have read the rules and how the contest worked before you volanteered to compete. If you both want to quit after two days fine, just post I quit because I don't like the rules in this thread - but next time you compete in any Rx contests I will have you sign a pre-contest statement that you both know what you are doing before allowing you to compete.

Thank you, wilheim

How the Contest Works:<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Every Wednesday, there will be a poll in the main forum with a list of five (or some weeks three) potential matchups created by a Match-up Committe composed of Rx.com Moderators and Advisory Board Members. The list will be composed from volunteers who enter a master "I want to compete" list from a thread posted sticky here in The Offshore Forum and left up until further notice.

Once the five matchups for the next week are posted in the poll the posters at The RX.com will vote on which match-up they would like to see go at it head-to-head during the following week, occasionally a poster will be entered against a moderator as a possible matchup but still must win the poster vote to actually be the match-up of the upcoming week..

RULES:

The winners of the poll will meet and do battle in:

The Rx.com Poster Head to Head Capping Contest Forum..”.
<O:p></O:p>

Every day of competition (Tuesday thru Saturday) there will be five games with lines posted for each one of the two competitors (juice is not a factor). The lines can be from games of any sport being played that day and each contestant will have 5 separate games to choose their picks from for that day.

There will never be a day when the contestants have the same games to pick between. The Sports that will be used to kick off the contest will be either College Basketball, NBA Basketball or a combination of both. Eventually NHL Hockey, PGA Golf head to head match-ups, and eventually Major League Baseball will all be used as sports to be part of each nights handicapping card.
<O:p></O:p>
In the event of a tie, each contestant will have a special tiebreaker prop on Saturday night.
<O:p></O:p>
Every week, we will have two new contestants competing, winners do not advance but can play again later in a different match-up if voted in by the Rx posting body. A win the previous week will not put you in the contest the next week unless you are part of the Match-up Poll and voted to be a contestant again by the Rx posting body.
<O:p></O:p>
No editing of plays without moderator consent. <O:p></O:p>

How to win:

The contest will run from Tuesday thru Saturday each week, five days with five picks each day except Saturday when there will be a sixth special tiebreaker prop play for each contestant. The tiebreakers will also be different games. The reason for totally different games for each contestant is to avoid copying by contestants late in the week.
<O:p></O:p>
Each contestant must select a prediction for all 25 of their plays against the spread plus their Saturday tiebreaker or they cannot win and are disqualified.

Ties are of no value and and are the same as a loss. Each win against the spread is equal to one pont. The contestant with the most points after making their 25 selections plus the tiebrieaker which is worth one point to the one contestant who comes closes in their tiebreaker during the week wins the weekly prize. In the event of a tie after all games and the tiebreaker are graded and the two contestants have an equal amount of points the contestant with the most posts wins the contest.
<O:p></O:p>
All plays need to be posted in the contest forum daily thread by a deadline that will be posted in each days contest thread. That deadline will be the starting time of the earliest game on either contestants daily schedule unless otherwise noted. There may be early starting times on Saturday due to games starting earlier than normal. Plays posted late will be counted as losers. All plays must be posted no later than the posted deadline for that days competition in order to count no exceptions unless there is a major software failure by the Rx.com website at which point the Match-up Committee will rule on how that weeks contest will continue (possibly extra games per remaining day or a Sunday card).

Even if you have late starting games your entry must be in by the posted deadline set for that day's competition.
<O:p></O:p>
The contest will be sides only. No totals will be used until baseball begins or if there are not enough games to complete two separate five side cards on a given day. In that case totals may be used to fill out that particular days plays.
<O:p></O:p>
Any issues or disputes that may arise will be settled by The RX.com Management at our sole discretion. All rulings are final. Rule changes to improve the contest may be implemented as the competition progresses if suggested by someone from the posting body and ruled on favorably by the Match-up committee on a case by case basis.

Well I cant quit now!

Hell I got my Rockets as a selection last night. Cant get any better than that! Although the line moved against me and most guys liked Atlanta in that spot.

Williw, I will say that I like the rules in terms keeping people from piggy-backing.

If WhaleWager can manage to hit 60%, I know you two semi-dysfunctional fellers can do okay in this style of a tourney. Good luck to both of ya.

Wil - sorry to sound ungrateful just didnt realize what kinds of games are picked.

Figured atleast all the bigger games.

This is a great idea and is entertaining as you can see the back and forth me and PO generated with this but I think a little tweaking to make it better should be done so it doesnt die out.

Appreciate the chance and ill finish off strong
